I am trying to convert a headset into an audio line out connector, but need to know if the K700 base outputs both a left and right signal - I assume it does as I have a stereo headset for the inbuilt radio. And of course I need to know which pins are left and right.

The things is I don't want to destroy this headset, instead I want to convert another sonyericsson connector I have inwhich I can access all the pins internally. I want to solder a cable to the pins, leading to a 1.8 stereo socket, for plugging in headphones or stereo equipment.

Can anyone assist? Many thanks.

hmmm, that helps, but still not conclusive. There is a new accessory coming (the w800i music cable with rca outputs is going to be available as an accessory) that will be suitable so worst case scenario I wait till that is available.

Thanks for the info tho' that's further than I got!

Once I made an adapter to a conventional headset.

Pin #
1 Microphone
2 Earphone
7 and 8 connected together as Ground, they are connected toghether so the phone detects that It has a Handsfree attached.

Now my new S700i came with stereo headset and it has pin 6, so I think this is used as the other Earphone channel.

About the W800 adapter: the new phones came with new conecctors, incompatible with the "older" phones.

@macgirl, sounds logical, thanks for the info. I'll give it a go.

Too bad about the accessories, but I suppose if it has to happen better now than later.

Someone will bring out backwards compatible adapters hopefully. Although by then I hope to have the W800 anyway!
