Hi,
I have a memory problem with my (MMS) UPGRADED T68m phone.
Just after the upgrade process I checked my phone memory, it was about 1100 KB (1095 or something). I loaded some Screen Savers, Animated gifs, Background gifs and deleted some of them and reloaded some other gifs again. I checked my memory (from MMS menu) now it says it has 995 KB TOTAL !
Where is the remaining 100 KB ?
Thanx all. |

Don't the file system in the phone have compression???
If so, then the free memory figure is an "guesstimate". Decrease of free memory will not be linary, rather more than expected on graphics, and less with text... |

On your T68i or upgraded T68m you can check the memory at:
messages -> mms -> memory staus
or
fun & games -> themes -> "ALT(options)-button" -> memory staus
fun & games -> my pictures -> "ALT(options)-button" -> memory staus
I dont know how to do on a regular T68m.

in T68m (with the ordinary software):
Phone Book -> Memory Status (this does not display the memory in kb)
in T68i and the upgraded T68m:
Phone Book -> Advanced -> Memory status (same as for the ordinary T68m memory status)
Messages -> MMS -> Memory status

Yeah, I know, I am sure to get it back after master reset.
But I think phone has a compression or something like this. I mean, it stores pictures, sms, etc. (more or less) compressed and when you select anything, Screen Saver for example system needs extra memory like 50 KB. Because I had same problem a few days ago, I have lost 50-60 KB from phone memory. Then I turned the screen saver off and realized that I got my memory BACK ! But, last time I could not get back my 100 KBs back !
So, I am sure there is a memory trick with this phone.
Is there any one who has VERY TECHNICAL DETAILED information about T68 phones ? |

depends on how technical you want it to be... the white paper for T68m and T68i is public information, but if you want more technical than that it's confidential information and only available to servicepoints. |
