As i know its not possible yet to unlock it, at the latest t610 fones se let an extra cable next to the main chip, which has to be removed to unlock the fone, a bit risky action. So a cable isnt enough.

Hm.. I unlocked/unbranded a friends Z600 yesterday using Terminator dongle. It went well, no more Vodacrap and all locks open in service menu.

Ok, I thought it was in the T610 and all following models.. that explains it then.
Surprises me that that they make the extra effort on a more or less obsolete model though?!
Could it be that he was trying to scare you out of trying?

nope, it is the reality... although I wasn't aware of it being a hardware issue... I thought the whole deal was covered with the rsa firmware.

I suspect they put it on later T610's for testing purposes... as de-branding and unlocking T610 and similar models has been rather common practise for quite some time now... what better testing grounds to see if anybody would crack ti very easily?

In any case unlocking for K700 is being worked on (by several groups in fact) but as of yet it is not available anywhere.

Don't know if you guys know this, but SE increased the encryption level on the K700 to reduce hardware crackin-thus the new 16 digit unlockin codes rather than the old 8 digit system!!!
