I was hearing and reading news about 3 weeks now regarding some of esato's members being banned in the Discussion Forum ! I was not quite aware of this for the past what . . . 10 months, since the day I joined the site All I ever knew was the story of a certain member back then - nothing else I can't name names here mates due to very strict confidentiality clause, but I just know some of the unlucky ones Can the mods and even @ laffen expound on this futher What are the main causes for the reason and how's the 'time-table' for such offense I just hope that over-use of esato's smileys is not just one of them Many thanks !

It's just when they cross their limits like damo55. But sometimes the ban is also lifted...

Every game has its rules, esato aswell. Knowing the behavour of the mods, a ban is never without a well based point.

Yes they do get warnings. They aren't poor. Some plead and ban is lifted but some continue even after that and get banned again

I find the mods very tolerant of wayward behaviour, if you are out of line you usually get a whisper in the ear, and that should be enough. Why anyone would persist in acting like idiots and ruining a good site for others is beyond me. Its good to have a laugh and a joke but some people just dont know when to quit.

But (I know its not good to start with a but) if we were to know why people get banned then we can all see the line not to cross. It's mostly common sense (the greatest oxymoron of them all IMO) but sadly it's not in abundance.

What is the procedue?
Do you get PM'd warnings?
Do you just find you IP blocked?
3 stikes and you're out?

Or as I suspect it's all of the above depending on the circumstance.

OK @Vlammetje, How many (percentage will do) people do you think..

a) Know where to find the rules
b) Have read the rules
c) Have time to read the rules
