I have the original T68. (I'm a new user btw... hi everyone!) Anyways I bought mine a long long time ago so I'm sure it's not the T68m or i. Anyways it's really really slow. When I write SMS the letters show up after a 2-3 second delay. I'm wondering what I can do to upgrade the software?

I saw a post in here once about going to a service center and "flashing" the software, but I can't find that post or phone number anymore. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I'm on Cingular in LA. Should I just wait until they have the T68i and claim insurance or something??? My phone is starting to annoy me....

Oh and does anyone else get a lot of dropped calls???

There's something seriously wrong with your phone... return it and get a new one. Even mine has a delay when I input text but not 3 seconds as you say. I don't get dropped calls and I don't think others in this forum either. Try the upgrade to T68i and maybe things will improve.

as u type ur text, the longer the message, the laggier. i typed long message before and it lags around 10 secs

the more sms u have in ur inbox also increases the lag. try to clear them

use t68i software, lesser lag.

I had similar problems with my first T68 (which I had replaced by my network provider here in the UK). The T68/i, in my opinion, is only an average phone when it comes to signal strength anyway, but my first phone would lose calls all the time and then in the end would no longer make them.
But I have to say after my phone was replaced and I go got the T68i upgrade done on it, things got 200% better. And it now is one of the best phones on the market today!
As far as I know though, the T68i software isn't available in the US because the phone itself isn't out there yet. your best bet is to phone a couple of big phone dealers and ask them if you can have the latest T68m software flashed onto your phone.

Good Luck!
