Hi, i've had my K700i for about 3 days, and have already run into some problems.
i've searched forums high & low to try and find out why or what's gone wrong, and have found nothing.

Basically, i've lost the alert for my text messages. it used to make a noise, and now it does nothing. the phone rings if you call it, but that's pretty much it, all other alerts are silent. my phone dosent tell me if i have a text, if i'm at my computer, the screen shakes, i check & it's there.
any one know what's up with it?

Also, i cannot remotely connect to my pc via bluetooth. this was one of the reasons i bought the phone, and it dosent work. i've setup the COM ports & everything according to 3 different sets of instructions, but it just says 'Bluetooth Connection Failed'
I'm also new to Bluetooth as i've had a Nokia 5100 for the last year & i'm not sure how to pair up my phone with others. I had to enter a pass code, but nokia users, to the best of my knowledge, dont, so i'm not able to send files from my PC to their phones & vice versa. any ideas?

My brother has a Nokia 3650 and was able to (via a small program) use his phone as a remote for the tv etc, could the same be done on a k700i?

last thing for now, is i've heard about firmware updates to prolong battery life etc, how & where can i do this? i charge my phone over night, unplug it when i get up, and within say 2 hours of it being off the charger, the battery life starts to drop. never had a battery problem with Nokia :/

i guess that's enough for now. i'm sure i've run into or will run into other problems along the way

thanks in advance for any help!

i wasnt too sure how active this forum was, but i guess it's not that active, so i took a good few hours out of my evening & fixed most of the problems.

done a master reset to get my alert tones back, & re-installed bluetooth software enabling me to remotely connect, although the icon dosent show up in my bluetooth devices, so it's a process to get that to connect.

The activity on this forum varies with time & day. Weekends are much quieter than weekdays.

As for your message tones did you not first check you had a tone selected before doing a master reset?

The K700 can connect very easily to PCs or other phones. The problem is usually getting the PC to use Bluetooth correctly as this is often very tricky.

You don't need to enter a code to transfer data but you do in order to pair with another device, the default code is 0000

This forum is pretty active, but if you used SEARCH, you would find many answers to your problems. Anyway I am glad that you sloved the problems yourself and that you helped someone that will have same problems .

Take care

i checked, changed it to all 6, turned the phone off & on, went into that special menu thing to make sure the phone still vibrated, tried to send random things to my computer & reject it just to hear the 'rejection' tone, nothing. i'm not too sure what the error was, i hope i dont have to reset it every time the tone decides to go walkies!
