Pria Diagnostics has developed the Element, the world's smartest sperm cup. Designed as a home fertility test for men, the $40 kit can tell with 95 percent accuracy whether or not your little sailors are fit for creating life. Currently, lab testing costs around $350 and many times isn't covered by health insurance. For just a fraction of the price, the Element brings "good enough" male fertility testing into the home - exactly the place skittish and insecure men might want to use it.
The kit uses fluorescent chemicals that mind to sperm when the cup is shaken. As the little troopers start glowing, an optical chip called "MEMS" uses an LED to determine the concentration and motility of the sample.
The Element is currently undergoing FDA approval.
