As we all know, the one that has the reason and the possibility of reacting is the citizen. So in Lebanon few days ago citizens decided to react and show their dissatisfaction to the companies of mobile telephony, making a second "mobile strike", precisely one month after the first one.

The chairman of local union of consumers Abdel-Rahman Berro, said that he waited for a bigger attendance since this time more people were informed for the second "organised mobile strike" that was organised by 22 unions and authorities! Of course, organizers were particularly occupied the last days sharing information and flyers (roughly 100,000 were given the days of preparation), in order to increase the rate of attendance by 4%. The main reason that the attendance was not higher as they expected, was that the mobile telephony is the third at line source of income for the government, therefore in this case a coordinated "organised mobile strike" would resulted in a 2.8 million lost of income!

In any case, the reason that this protest began was absolutely reasonable. The consumers require from the network providers to re-design the debits with the main demand to charge a call per second and not per minute that is in effect today. Also they ask for a reduction of cost of pre-paid cards by 30% and a reduction of calling charge between 20:00 till 0800 in the morning.
