A company of telecommunications that is based in India was punished with a fine and her operation was prohibited, because it was senting periodically annoying written messages to mobile subscribers, that promised false pecuniary rewards. It was not the only company though. The Indian company called Indiano Communications was one from the six globally companies that were imposed to such fine. Their base was in various points of planet, while according to the accusations they massly sent SMS and messages of operators to subscribers of mobile telephony in UK, that informed the recipients that they had gained various sums up to 7500 Euros! The recipients of messages were left finally with empty pockets when they discovered in order to be informed for their "rewards", they had to call in telephone numbers of "special" debit which touched upon the 2.25 Euros/min, only to discover finally that they had not earned anything but instead, they gained strange travelling parcels with even more strange terms until they acquire them. The fine that was imposed in the 6 companies was 125000 Euros in each one as well as the prohibition of their operation for 2 years.

All these resulted after relative research that was carried out by ICSTIS, the organisation for the monitoring of services of special debits in Great Britain. This fines and the prohibition of operation were imposed because the particular companies did not include in the messages neither the cost, nor the remainder details of communication. The companies that were punished were the following: Fast Way Holdings which is based inZagreb of Croatia, the Greenbay Ltd and the Quartel Ltd which are based in the British Virgin Islands, Litmus Ltd based in Florida and finally the Vertica Media Ltd from the Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia. Four from these companies sent to their subscribers written messages in which they prompted to call some number which said that were not highly charged at all.

All these companies used a provider of telecommunications solutions with the name Smile Telecom which is based in Bury of Lancaster. Nevertheless representative of Smile Telecom protested saying that the company was connected with the networks of England providing the controversial debits. Concretely it said: "We consult naturally always our customers with a "map" of rights and obligations of ICSTIS. We cannot however, neither be compelled to check the services provided. Those six companies were not the only ones that were punished with a fine. ICSTIS punished the previous week other companies that sent misleadingly SMS and messages of operator. The organisations of consumers of UK naturally they approved this move and fines, characterizing as "a step to the right direction." The chairman of the organisation "Commercial Models" of York, Colin Rumford declared characteristically: "We greet these fines since it is the only way to punish those, that are behind these misleading messages."
