I've just had a thought. Esato is used by a multitude of people, all with differing levels of knowledge and experience with mobile phones and technology in general.

What do you all think about the possibility of a 'jargon' section, where some of the common terms relating to mobile communication are explained?

Let me know what you think

Well basically yeah. It could have definitions of terms like GPRS and EDGE and stuff like that for people who don't know what they are.

nice idea but with the web being as wide as it is I think there might be better definitions out there than can be supplied here. Mind you, out there they are not always correct either

One site I use is www.gsmworld.com for example and its very useful glossary page, including Edge and GPRS, is here

I think it would be a good idea, it would encourage more phone users with a limited knowledge of their phones to become part of the Esato community, which can only be a good thing.

We could always try though as masseur pointed out a better alternative is available.

But we could set a basic dictionary with explanation to basic things and if possible link to the associated articles in gsmworld and other sites if they want to know in detail.
