This company claims to provide PTT on regular symbian phones like the p800/900, 3650, etc! How is this possible? I think they're making use of a regular symbian programme. Anybody have any info on this? MAybe someone could develop a similar programme and we can PTT for free

Umm. I havent read that link yet but how is this possible? Isnt push to talk based on two way radio technology which works on a different frequency than mobile signals? Do these phones have this inbuilt in them?

Actually I think it utilises gprs for two ptt enabled phones to communicate at the push of a button. Nokia 5140 is one PTT enabled phone. But tyhe wierd thing is hutch is providing such a service where symbian phones can apparently dl the software and use PTT!

.....which basically means using the internet to send audio (voice) files. Theres no reason why this isnt possible on a px00. In fact, i think theres already a UIQ PTT application out there somewhere.... [addsig]

Push-To-Talk is Voice over IP using General Packet Radio Service.

The cost of PTT would depend on the cost of the GPRS service in your network.
