Khronos group, consortium of companies that is specialised in the growth of models and APIs (Application Program Interfaces), announced that the new publication of OpenGL ES 1.1, has now the essential certification and is available for use in any mobile appliance. OpenGL ES constitutes a subset of OpenGL, that after DirectX is the second known ATI in computers. The improvements concerning publication 1.0 are plenty and concerns all sectors. Mainly effort is for increase of records, but also for reduction of consumption. This is achieved through special algorithms that attend to decrease to minimal possible the "visits" in memory, achieving more time of autonomy!

Naturally plentry of effort took place in the level of optical effects, improving already the existing technologies and adding various others, as:

Buffer objects

Auto mipmap generation

Enhanced texture processing

Vertex skinning functionality

User-defined clip planes

Enhanced point sprites and point sprite arrays

Static and Dynamic state queries

Draw Textures

Even so that Khronos group is a partisan of open software and the "big brother" OpenGL is manufactured with the same philosophy. Those developers who need access in relative tests growth of the product, in the code and its utilisation, they will have to pay the essential subscription to the manufacturers that possess the legal rights.

Finally, developers have start to work, since their next objective is the circulation of publication of OpenGL ES 2.0 that will incorporate the OpenGL Shading Language, which is just circulated and incorporated in the "regular" publication ofOpen GL 2.0 for personal computers!
