2 x UK Spec Orange branded (locked) Z1010's. These are not released in the UK yet, I'm selling on behalf of a mate who won them as a prize (he works for Orange).

I've tested them and they work fine on Orange's 2G network until of course it finds the 3G network when it gives a 'no access' error - as it is trying to latch on to the 3G network.

So they will work with 2G cards as long as there is no 3G coverage in that area. If they are unlocked they *should* be able to work on any 2G network plus Three too, i think(?). Perhaps you know more than me.

They are brand new and in perfect condition, note they do not have the usual Orange manuals (i don't think they have been printed yet!)...but I do have some print-outs as I was emailed the manuals.

Expansys are taking pre-orders for £587.95:

http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=Z1010

So shall we start the bidding at £400 per handset?

Bearing in mind you said these were "WON AS A PRIZE" & hence cost NOTHING......

I shall start the biding at £200

the fact that they were won in a competition does not make their marketable value any less

but there is no harm in trying at a lower price

Anything offered for sale is worth whatever someone is prepared to offer for it and not a penny more.

@ masseur
but the Z1010 currently has no market price as it isn't out in the UK. For all we know it may be £100 on PAYG soon looking at '3's other prices. Also it locked to a Network that hasn't even launched 3G yet!
And it's a little greedy to demand huge prices for something that cost you NOTHING!

@ absinthebri
I agree

I see your point and therefore "market value" as I worded it could indeed be low. But as I understand it, its as easy to unlock a Z1010 as any other phone thereby making it more marketable.

My comment was more of a general one though and though it may appear greedy why should he not get "market value" from the sale of these? though of course any price he gets will be a bonus for him. Would it be different if he had contacts in the trade and bought them at cost price and tried to sell them for "market value"?

I don't see the difference. Good on his luck I say

I don´t think it will be 100£ on PAYG. It´s been in Sweden for 5 months and it still costs 460£ new and locked...

But I got mine Brand-New for 250£. A operator have a miss in their contract thing that does that u can get a z1010 really cheap

@ Leksandfan
I'm sure it probably won't be £100 that was just an example but remember the huge price difference between Sweden & UK for the a835

I've done the honest thing and explained that I won them as a prize - now they've gone down in value! Obviously honesty may no longer be the best policy!

@Merovingian

I still think £400 is a fair price. I'll get some pictures up this afternoon too if anyone's interested.

@G123: a phone doesn't go down in value, just because you won it:)

but unfortunatly I don'y have 400£, but i would love one if I had the money

good luck with selling them anyway
