I bought a K700i yesterday and am very pleased with it, except for the fact that i cant use any of the preloaded mp3's as ringtones or alarm sounds.
i checked the sony ericsson knowledge database and found out that because i am on vodafone, they customise their handsets and only allow DRM-mp3 to be used (whatever that means!)
Is their any way to remove this network installed lock?

as yet no there isnt any way, as far as im aware its all to do with the RSA security settings on the phone that dont allow us to flash them with new software.

im sure there will be a fix soon!! (im hoping there is! i hate my orange branding!!)

You have to upgrade your software at a sony ericsson service centre(free) and the download the DRM packager and encode your mp3s with that and it works.

Search this forum, the answers are there;)
