After firmware upgrade to R2L my Ipaq 4150 and Ipaq 5550 cannot connect to internet via k700i via bluetooth. But connection through IR works perfect. Also desktop pc works fine (can connect to internet via k700i/bluetooth)

One more fix i found.

New contact =>New number =>Look up =>More =>Unsaved numbers

When you go there with r2a version you would get unlimited no. of phone numbers stored with no way of deleting them.

After the upgrade there are only 10 numbers stored, still you cannot delete them. But it is aleast better than having a load of junk numbers. [addsig]

mwarner,

Please include (very serious) BT bug that Smogg mentioned. This bug has been confirmed by many pocket pc users (including me).

This bug is very serious and never been on previous SE phone.

Ok, will do. First of all, though, can you confirm that this is an R2L issue only. What was your previous firmware and was it ok with that?

I don't test it myself (don't try it before) but a lot of PPC users post (on Pocket PC site) that the BT dialup networking problem occurs after upgrading to R2L.

This thread seems to confirm this issue.

I don't know if anybody else has but I've emailed SE to find out if the Online Firmware Update for the K700 is just down or if the service has been terminated.

Will let you know the response

I encounter the same problem after firmware upgrade.
The original firmware version of my K700i was R2A. My ipaq 2210 could access the internet without any problem via using K700i as a GPRS modem thru the bluetooth connection.
After the firmware upgraded to R2L001, it failed, but it is no problem for my ipaq 2210 to access internet by using K700i as a GPRS modem thru IrDA connection.

Ok just got back to me about the online firmware updates.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.

With regards to your enquiry,

They are no software upgrades available for the k700i at this time. This is a new phone. If they are any faults they will be an upgrade in the future. However we don't have a release date. For up-to-date information please check our website.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

Not really much to go on for people living a distance from a centre

I have an HP Ipaq series running windows 2003. Before the upgrade the problem i used to get was during syncronising the phone and the palm top. Now after the upgrade that problem is gone and a new one is there. I cannot connect to the internet via bluetooth [addsig]

@ mwarner

There is one more fix i found out. You can now send pictures to other k700/other phones properly. Previously a 40kb image would be reduced in quality and size to about a 5kb picture, when it was send. (Note that this used to happen most of the time, Not all the time). Now i have confirmed this problem is fixed.

However a new problem is there. Its a rare case when the bluetooth transfer takes place in first try. Most of the time it says connection failed. If i try again or a few more times, then the connection is properly established.

I also found out this bug a user was facing at another forum (k-700.com). Someone please reconfirm

"I have noticed a bug which has not been fixed by the R2L001 upgrade. I originally found this within R2A041. On the Phone locks if you set this to automatic, the phone should only ask you for a phone lock password if you change the sim card. It seems if you set this to automatic, the phone lock code is still requested at each power up."

hello everybody!
Pleeeeease help me!
I bought my k700i from dubai
I went to my SE service center(I live in Romania/Bucharest) to flash my phone with R2L001(I had R2A041)
The guy over there looked at my phone's service info and he saw that at customization it was written CDA xxxxxxxx/13. He explained to me that '/13' means that the phone was locked to a network(code 13 ) probably in Dubai, and it was unlocked there until I bought it(to be network free it should be '/1')
He also said that it might be very possible if he puts in the R2L001 the phone might lock again to that 'code 13' network in Dubai, and there is no way hecan unlock the phone because there is no software to do that! The only way to unlock it is to go back in Dubai(impossible)to contact there that network.
Did you encountered the same problems when you've upgraded your FW? If so, how did you solve it?
