What cable for t68? |
MrHat Joined: Jun 09, 2002 Posts: 41 PM |
Getting the upgrade for my t68 soon (in Guilford) and was wondering what type of data cable was best to get.
The SE site mentions the DRS-10 & DRS-11 and I've read the Esato FAQ about 'em but I'm still not sure which one.
Any advice?
(I also recently get a cheap generic one at a local market but I couldn't get it to work. Tried the SE software but still wouldn't find the phone. Is this likely to happen again with a 'official' cable?)
Cheers. |

DRS-10 from the carphonewarehouse. £25, you probably have to order it from there but it only takes a day to come, you have to pay first, but they can deliver to the store or to your address.
use my pics or sendfile and phone moniter.

Try buying an infra red one.
Go to www.firstphoneshop.co.uk
Its around £30.
I haven't tried this particular model so i can't say how useful or reliable it is.
I've mess around with an infra red data cable and its work perfectly every time. Usually windows can handle an infra device i.e a phone without any extra software. |

Hey MrHat DONT GET A CABLE.Go get a MA-600 infrared adapter trust me on this one, data cables are a waste of money as for the MA-600 infrared adapter you can use it on all infrared phones ALL BRAND TYPES for future purchases

I realise that there's advantages with the IR but you only have to look at the number of posts to see that there are some problems with WinXP and them.
Anyone had any major problems with cables and WinXP? |

Got a simple USB cable today and it works fine.

I just ordered a USB data Cable. It should arrive tommorow, I know there is software in the pack but what would you guys recommend if I want to use it for ringtones, backgrounds, pictures with MCA-20 AND using T68 as a phone line to use Laptop modem to dial up to ISP - AOL. |

Hey guys I've just seen on the net an infrared USB adapter, I would like to know if some of you have tested it on the T68i?
The model is: ACT-IR2000U from ACTiSYS
Thank you,

I use a DRS-11. Choose whatever interface you want (USB, IrDA, etc) but if you choose a cable you MUST choose DRS-11. I bought 2 or 3 other cables from various manuf, but the're all crap. DRS-11 is expensive, but it works like a charm. And you can even plug your power adapter behind so the T68 is charged while you synchronize
Oh, and I use the little Ericsson docking station with that. Very nifty !

So what exactly is the difference between the DRS-10 and DRS-11?
