Whats the easiest and cheapes way of sending backgrounds to my T68? I am changing the pic 3 or 4 times a day and I think I am going to get a pretty big phone bill next month:D
I am ok with my Desktop PC, that is running windows millenium, but not exactly an expert. Should I be thinking about an IRDA device or a data cable? Are there any benefits of one over the other? Apart from one being cordless?
Do I need software for both? Also prices and model no's would be good (UK)
Thanks in advance |

Try this instead:
Get the data cable (DRS-10 or DRS-11) and download the new updated MyPictures from http://wap.sonyericssonmobile.com under T68 on the Ericsson software menu.
With the new MyPictures it is possible to download pictures to phone by cable as well as IR (maybe by bluetooth as well...i don't know).
There is also another piece of SW that makes you able 2 send both pics and ringtones 2 the phone. That SW is called SendFile and could B found at www.christersson.org

New Beetle,
I was asking the same question last week when I first got my ericsson t68! Even though esato's background website is quite good, its bloody slow and costly via WAP. So I went off and bought a IrDA cable for my home PC. I got a USB to IrDA cable, don't know if the transfer is any faster than a normal serial cable but i liked the sound of USB instead of serial.
I bought mine from maplin, though they are expensive at £40! Although it doesnt say it on the packaging, the USB IrDA adapter is a KC Technology IRXpress.
Anyway the one I originally looked at was the MA600 (around £35-40) which seems to be quite popular to get, but the one at http://logosunlimited.co.uk/infrared.htm seems like a good deal too!
Ericsson seems to have most of the software sorted out though! From their site you can get the synchronisation software for your phonebook and sms and to also integrate with outlook too. And Ive used the MyPictures to send piccys to my phone as well and its by far the cheapest way in the long run. They all run a dream!
And dont forget, if you get a IrDA port on your PC you can virtually use it for any other Infra Red device!
