Hey dudes i wrote an email to sony ericsson and this is what they said. A lot of people have been lied to by what i have read so i was wondering if anyone could give me honest answers- or are s.e telling the truth for once?
Anyway, the letter:
(To sony ericsson)
please can you tell me how I can update my s.e k700i firmware
from R2A? What is the latest version and how can i get it? Can it be
downloaded? I have heard that once the firmware has been updated the
battery life improves- is this true? I was also wondering; if i do a reset
all on my phone, do i lose all the pictures and sounds that originally
came on my phone? The manual isnt very helpful in saying what you lose
and what you don't. Sorry for so many questions but i have also noticed
that if you start recieving an item and cancel it halfway through, the
memory goes down. Is there a way to get this memory back? (by the way
it is o2 modified) please respond.

With regards to your enquiry,
There is no firmware update available yet.
The master reset will put the phone back to factory settings and no
software will be installed (pictures,sounds,games.

Do you still believe in SE on line Service Centre? I gave up long time ago...!!!!! Maybe for O2 the only firmware is R2A but if you read the topics in esato the answers to your questions are all there. |

But a lot of people contradict each other and 'allegedly' the online upgrade service isnt complete yet. The link to the stupid site doesnt even work for me! |

when se wrote that the master reset will restore factory settings and all pictures and ringtones will be gone, thats wrong! a master reset reverts your phone to how it was when u took it out of the box. all o2's pix, screensavers etc will be there.
