T610 won't disconnect BT serial port. |

Hi!
I have just replaced my old T68 through the less old T610 but I have been facing a complete strange behaviour...
After installing my BT dongle device, I found the T610 and paired the device with the PC. Connected the BT serial 1, worked perfectly! The MPM was set on the right COM (in my case COM6) and I could wonderfully dial-up and XTND my brand new T610! I could also set a new COM7 for synchronizing my Tungsten. So far so good.
As I shut down my PC and started it again, starting also the BT dongle, 2 sec. later for no reason my T610 established a permanent connection with the BT COM port (COM6). The BT Tray kept green and I could not use XTND any more to synch my outlook address book with the T610... Dial-up was nevertheless still possible.
I tried to shut down the BT Serial Com port through my BT Places hopping the BT communication Channel would keep free but less than a second after was the BT tray green again..
I spent hours trying to desinstall and reinstall without any success..
The weardest thing is that after the new USB BT dongle installation, everything works fine, only after resetting the PC starts the nightmare.
I also tried with another phone as the S65, communication worked perfectly!
On my opinion, the T610 should have bug in its SW... The T68i worked also perfectly well!
Does anyone know how I can solve this very strange behaviour? |

what firmware version do you have in your t610 |

Try going to your bluetooth advanced settings for the t610 and check if the serial port is set to automatic. I have a t610 and it does not do that, and the firmware is r1 original tmobile still, so there should be another reason.

Hi guys!
First thanks a lot to you all for the very quick reply!
My SW version is : R6C005
I don't know if it is the latest one but I went yesterday to the nearest SE technical office and they assured me they up-graded the latest SW. I found strange that my address book and personnal configuration kept unchanged.. Did they really do the job?
On the PC side, unfortunately I can't change the BT COM port from automatic checked to unchecked.. It appears in gray.
I have the impression the phone permanently asks for connection.
When I unpaired the phone with the PC, each time a switch on the phone, I get the message on the BT Tray that T610 ask for pairing.
Is there on the T610 a special service that I did not know that request that permanent connection with the BT COM port? Just guessing..
Thanks to you all for any further ideas! |

Another short question, is there any possibility to all-reset the T610?
Can I upgrade the SW myself?
Which SW do I need to do the job?
I asked the SE after sales technicians here but they were absolutely helpless.. |

Don't try to upgrade fw by myself .I'm not sure if its possible via web. Go to master reset, reset all. What about to try another dongle.

Hi Boto!
I tried already another dongle but still the same problem...
With the master reset, I am not too familiar.
How?
Will I have to parametrize my provider network and all of that or is it already on the SIM chip?
Thanks for the valuable tips! |

You won't wipe out the SIM phonebook or parameters set on it, but you WILL lose the phone book, pictures, WAP address books and maybe WAP setup for your provider stored on your phone. |

where you have to go is in the bluetooth setup wizard - choose the second option "I want to find a specific bluetooth device and configure how this computer will use its services." select next - select your t610 and next - click on the serial port and click configure - make sure this is not set to automatic startup.
you have a much newer firmware than i do, so that is NOT your problem, unless this is a new issue (highly doubt it)...
i really have to believe that there is some setting on your computer that is wrong, nothing to do with the specific phone, but maybe how the specific phone's services were configured when you first paired it?
