Hello, I watched the BBC TV show last week about that lovely Scottish couple who moved to Darlana region and were made into mini Celebrities as they tried everything to stay in the country. I thought it was wonderful & the fact that the Swedish seemed soo helpful & welcoming.

For me it just confirmed why Sweden is one of my fav countries. Do people like living there, I mean, people have a good standard of living & are positive about the country rather then being negative in the UK & pessimistic about living standards & society etc. Also does it really cost £50,000 (€75,000/SEK 700,000) to buy a 4 house in Darlana??? I’m sure I misheard that! You can barely buy a garden shed for that here! Its ridiculous! If this is true, Sweden here I come!!!

sweden is really nice, it has beautiful girls, and the living standards are high. My apartment here in stockholm costs like 1.5 mil, so yeah, a house might cost that much.

I've also heard about this scottish family. Its been in the news. 750kSEK seems to be a feasíble price for a 4 room house in Dalarna. In Stockholm you wont get any house for less than double price. However, if you go further north than Dalarna even cheaper prices... In Lappland where I'm originally from a friend of mine recently bought a 4room house for 420kSEK! Thats something like 40kEURO!

The house prices depends much on where in Sweden you are. My parents bought a and old farm in the northern part of Västmanland (near Dalarna), they paid 475000SEK (~€51000) for it and I paid €54000 (500000SEK) for my one room apartment 15km north of Stockholm

so if you can cope with not living in the big city you can find quite cheap houses and it's nothing wrong with living in the countryside either, very relaxing with peace and quite and no stress like in the big cities

Dalarna is quite "perfect" place to have a cabbing/house, very beatiful in the summertime (but be aware... there can be quite many mosquitoes around), and good areas for skiing in the winter if you don't want to live permanently in Dalarna, do as many other (both Swedish people and foreigners) and have it as a summer/winter house for vacations

I live in a little town (15000) in South Sweden. I don´t know how many rooms my house are, but it is 200 m2. The value of it is 700-800,000 SEK and its a very nice house!
