This is self explanatory. I'm just wondering cause I always told myself that I'd NEVER, EVER smoke. Oh well. I started right after my marriage ended cause I was so upset and saw Mathew Perry from Friends smoking and wanted to be like him more than anything at that point in my life. It was stupid, but now it relaxes me and I enjoy it. By the way, I smoke Camel Twists, dark mint and lime.

I started smoking at 15, can't remember the reason but I do remember i smoked with my best friend back in those days

I smoked moderately over the years, until at 21 I started smoking very heavily, mostly due to stress and general unhappiness with my job at the time.

I quit smoking when I got very sick one day and was in bed for a week. Didn't touch a cigarette for almost 2 weeks and figured since I was already on my way, might as well seize the opportunity and quit altogether.

I started smoking when i was on my graduating year in college due to tense doing thesis. 2 packs a day the most. But, when i met my fiance 2 yrs after that, i stopped. Just a year ago, i started smoking again because of pressure in advertising where i am working up to this very moment. But, my 1 pack of cigarette can last for three to four days. On the verge of quitting i guess.

Congrats to Marga and everyone who quit. I don't know if I'll eventually quit, it just helps me deal with things cause sometimes I get so depressed in the middle of the night. I used to think it's unattractive too, but now I really don't care. I always laugh when I think about those ads in school stating how much you could save as opposed to cigarettes, cause it's true, I could have bought myself a new phone. They say you can't buy happiness, but at least I've found a price to some peace and satisfaction.

My mom caught me with a cigarett and then my father made me smoke a whole package. I was sick for about a week and decided never to smoke again. That happened when i was 11.

the thing is that you don't actually save the money you save on cigarettes. You just use it and it goes unnoticed. If I'd really set aside the money i did not spend on ciggies thos past years, i'd have quite a lot now but I don't

Well I dont smoke personally, and trust me you dont save much money. You end up spending it all on booze anyway. But thats another topic ;-)

I started smoking at 18 (comparitively late, I know!) when going to nightclubs and all my friends smoked. They kept offering me one, till one eveining after I'd had a few drinks, I said yes, and enjoyed it!

Then smoked about 10 a day till April this year, spending about £10 a week on cigarettes, when I gave up, and haven't had one since!

I've been saving that £10 a month - and now have £200 in cash sitting in a jar which I'm going to use as holiday spending money. Thinking about it though, if I wasn't going on holiday, I've almost got enough money to buy a brand new K700!

I still would love to have a cigarette to this day, the urge hasn't really gone away completely.

One thing I forgot. I had a few cigarettes when I was at hospital. I was operated and it helped me a bit to reduce the stress.
