Has anyone managed to get this working with a 3970 running Pocket PC 2002? I have seen a post on another site saying 2003 is required due to the increased BT profiles on the K700. Also has anyone got it working with 2003 as considering upgrading O/S

Thanks!

Hi, I also have a iPAQ 3970 running PPC 2002 and a K700i and I cannot get the phone working as Bluetooth Modem. I can link OK and tranfer files but as a modem I keep getting a cannot open port error. The phone works fne with my Laptop. I spent ages with Orange support on the phone and they treid all sorts of thiings but no joy. They said they had had a number of people complaining the K700i did not work with lder iPAQs due to different versions of Bluetooth - Will let you know if I have any success. Annoying as it worked fine with my T68i but at least it keeps the phone bills down!

Cheers

Yes I couldn't connect with iPAQ 4150 (OS 2003). I tried everything. Maybe that was a problem with fw on iPAQ. I had 1.00 and now I flashed it to 1.10. I will report later, when I will try it with friend's K700.

yes. its never give me problem on iPAQ 3970 (2002) with T39m (using irda and BT) and T310 (using irda), but when try to connect with K700i its always show an error message, my iPAQ say "something wrong with the BT and then you must do softreset to recover the problem", i do softreset , and the problems remain the same!!!

its there anyway we could upgrade the BT (driver?) in my iPAQ or there is a bug in K700i, somebody plz???

Regarding the problem about ipaq&k700i bt dialup issue, you can refer to the following topic

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=66330&start=60

the workaround is working on my ipaq 2210 (ppc2003).

k700i < bt > ipaq 3870 modem incompatibility

In pocket pc 2002 bt manager, when i select the (already paired/bonded) k700 the bt program freezes while it is "retrieving services for this device". The bt program then crashes.
"Select as bluetooth modem" does not appear in the "actions" menu for the k700.
After prolonged interaction with hp "instant"-"support" the last word is that "there is an incompatibility between the bluetooth systems of the two devices.
HP's representative said that because it is an "old model" that he did not expect there would be a software revision to fix the problem.

Sony Ericsson's representative did not seem to be aware of the isuue and could find no similar isuues in the Sonyericsson system. He did undertake to follow up through the company's system and to personally report it to his supervisor.
Does anyone have a fix???

I've tried what was mentioned between my Ipaq 3870 & my K700i... disappointed... the results are the same as posted earlier..

What actually happened? My previous T610 works flawlessly... now b'cos of my K700i, I may have to replace my Ipaq as well!!!!

All is no lost (maybe?)

Apparently the problem is in the Pocket PC 2002 OS and upgrading to PPC 2003 OS will fix it.

Check out the link below, I have ordered the Pocket PC 2003 upgrade disc and when I get it I will let you all know how it goes.

Hi guys

I had this problem, escalated to SE in Dubai and I think I have the solution now. On my Ipaq 2210 whihc was working fine with my Z600, I could not initiate a data call to the K700i. All other Bluetooth coms worked, but no data calls.

The solution it to put a Modem init string in the Advanced setting on the Ipaq when defining any connection. The init string is simply the letter Z that fixed the problems for me . Dials out now whether it is to a regular modem or GPRS or HSCSD. would not initiate any of these without the Z.
