Hey peeps, ive got a P800 with a 128Mb Magicgate MSDuo, and im now considering buying the HBM-30 handsfree. Jus want to know if i can playback my music on my 128Mb MSDuo on the Handsfree straightaway (i.e without transferring and converting anything)?
Also, ive read that ATRAC3 format gives a far better battery life than mp3 files. Is there a way of converting mp3 files to Atrac3? if anyone knows, please let me kno!

thanks alot guys

Hello Rajenvara,

the answers are here (Gaijinsan post) and here.
I know nothing about P800, ie, if it reads MP3 and Atrac3.

What I would say is that in order to be read with the HBM30, the MP3s are to be in a \MP3 folder on the MS Duo.

Concerning the atrac3. You have two ways to convert wave and mp3 to this format :
1/ Use the cable provided with the HBM30 but it is very long (the hbm make the conversion and put directly the converted music to the right folder "\hifi"),
2/ Buy a MS reader/writer (listed by ganjinsan in his post) compliant with Magicgate. These card are sold with the sonicstage software that helps you to convert your waves/mp3 to atrac 3.

After, I don't know in which folder the songs should be in order the P800 could read them.

Hope it would help you.

Regards

Ludovic
