i need a bit of technical assistance if possible please.
i have a problem with the joystick on my t610. it will only work when press it in, no left, right , up or down. the phone is out of warranty and has r3c firmware on it.
a bit of history on it.!!!!!!
bought it from a friend and thought the joystick needed cleaning.
i took it apart and found the joystick had come loose (not connected to the board at all), probably with using too much force when annoyed at it.
one of the copper solder pads on the board had also come off with the joystick itself, this i repaired with silver conductive paint.
i resoldered the joystick to the board, and put a little 'blob' of the silver paint on the top of the bad connection, a little of the paint 'wicked' under the joystick by capillary action i reckon. tried the phone and i still had no left right up and press in, but the scroll down worked after a little bit of wiggling. When i pressed the bottom three numbers the display came up with the letters above it too.

next step was to remove the joystick again, after removal i took the joystick apart, cleaned all the contacts internally, noted the switching sequence of it and reassembled it. then i checked continuity for all the switches , everything tested good .
I then went to test mimick the action of the joystick on the main circuit board with a shorting link, as i said i knew the switching sequence with dismantling the joystick, the only thing that works with it is to press the joystick in.no left right up or down. all other buttons work on the phone.
i have not resoldered the joystick back yet.

i am at a bit of a loss here and would appreciate any ideas on what to do. sorry for the long post but i thought you should know the full history , as it usually makes things easier to diagnose. coming from an engineering background my self.

think you misunderstood me. the joystick was originally soldered to the main board but all the solder connections had broken .so when the front was removed the joystick microswitch just fell to the floor. not just the joystick actuator.

cheers tho

I had the same problem with my old t 68i a half year ago.Send it to service center. The fix of joystick is quite expensive.Joystick is another weak point of phones. After have been using 7 month of my t 610 I sometimes can notice the same problems with joystick.
