Hello,
Need recommendation for a new phone. Requirements, a phone with REALLY good MS Outlook integration.
I have a QTek 8080 (a.k.a Orange E200), it offers amazing Outlook sync, don't have to worry about field mappimg, calander syncs perfectlyl MS Activesync does a pretty good job. Alas, its MS, and the phone is prone to crashes, sluggish behaviour at times... inexplicable bahaviour at other. Latest thing, my 4 key has got a mind of its own, only lets me use itself once if I'm typing an SMS!!, if i try to type "this" for instance, it won't let me!!, So I've decided to replace it.
I ONLY realyl use the cotnacts and calendar part of it; don't realy want/need to run any porgrams on the phone.
I used ot have a SE P800 before, but, wan't too impressed with it at that time; there was no outlook categories support, calendar didnt sync very well etc etc. I realyl don't need a touch screen either. T610 wasn't too bad, but very limited in no of contactc etc.
SO, bascially, I need a Phone with limited PDA capabilities, (limited to contacts/calendatr/tasks), but REALY good outlook tie-ups.
Any ideas?.

I don’t know which phone will be the best for what you want to do…
But for sure definitely not a P900 !
Sync takes age… then sometimes for no apparent reason the phone or Outlook will randomly remove some appointments… and compared to a Palm OS, every P900 “PDA functions” are still at the Stone Age…
The Treo 600 (or the next one…) is perhaps a good replacement for your Q Tek…

P900 is a bit too much of a PDA. A nokia 6600 would be a good choice, has everything you would use it for.

I'm also thinking of the Nokia 6600. The sagem and MPX220, well.. they are MS..If they worked well, they'd be really good, but some of the flaws are too much, knwoing MS, they'll probably be in a position to make Nokia and SE run for their money in another 3-4 iterations, (windows went from windows 1.0, to 3.11 to 95, till thy coudl really sort of get it right in Win 98 SE, n then botched again in ME); I could live with my Widnows PC crashing every now n then, but a phone crashing is the kind of horror ppl mentiond saracastically (even here on Esato), and now, its a reality!!!...
SE P800 was really a joke; I was really disappointed with SE throwing a sort of beta phone at users. Treo 600, again, I want REALLY basic contacts/calendars PDA capabilites, Treo too much for me. (incidently, I hada treo when it had jsut came out, and, there was no option for SMS delivery receipt; not even to manually set per msg, a phoen with a qwerty keypad, which cries SMS Machine, that was jsut too stupid an oversight - the SE P800 initially cameo ut with the same as well, though in a second firmware upgrade, it was upgraded to be able to set SMS delivery receipt on a per msg)
So, any input on how the Nokia 6600 is in terms of Outlook integration?.

The o2 smartphone or the microsoft pocket pc phone is a good deal. But, i think if you use a palm tungsten e with a t610, you have the capabilities you need. Both incorporate bluetooth. Cheers.

I think I'm gonna give MS phone a wide berth for a LONG time now. I think its finally narrowign down to either the 7610 or 6600. One query, how is sync with outlook oen on both, is it thru a sync program, or thru Nokia PC Suite?. Basciually. would I be able to update/modiy/delete my contacts/appointments directly in outlook, andf then be able to sync with the Nokia phone.
