T300 no power query, and what MCA camera is this? |

I've just got a dead T300 as my one of my next 'projects', and have a couple of queries with it.
Firstly, it doesn't power up. I gave it a good clean, both inside and out, and found what looked like it may have been water damage, but after a clean with a toothbrush, the residue and bit of dirt came off, leaving the PCB looking clean. I accidentally left the phone charging whilst I went out for a few hours - and when I came back the battery had swelled up so much the battery cover was being bent out of shape!! So there is at least power going through the phone, even though the charging light wasn't on.
My first question is - is it worth my while buying a new battery for this phone, do you think there's a chance of the phone powering up with a new battery, and is there a way of testing it without buying a battery?
Secondly, the phone came with a small attachable camera:
Next question - what's the model number of it? Is it an MCA-10, 20, 25, or 30? Or none of the above? Ta very much!

Just found out that the camera is most probably an MCA-25.
Anyone any ideas about the battery/powering up fault?

don't think it will help with a new battery... it sounds as there is a short circuit some where in the phpne caused by the liquid damage... you can always remove the battery, connect the charger to the phone and measure over the battery connector on the phone to check the voltage/current |

Thanks for replying @cytech!
How do I measure the voltage? Do I need a multimeter for that? I'm presuming that the voltage I'm looking for is 3.6v - as that's the voltage stated on the now pregnant-looking battery
Is there much I can do about the water damage? If all else fails I've got plenty of T300 spares now....
Oh, and will that MCA-25 camera work on a T68i? Thanks

Update: Tried a new battery, still no power.
I've just bought a new multimeter (mine was about buggered!) and connected up a charger to the phone to see if any voltage was going through - it was fluctuating from just below 3 volts to above 4.2v! I don't have a working T300 to compare that to, but when I did the same with a T68i, it read a steady 0.78 volts.
Is there anything that can be done, or is the phone only good for spare parts?

I didn't see the pic on PDA. Now I can see it, and it's the MCA-25.
