Vodafone Group Plc announced today the basic economic indicators
for the quarter closed on 30 June 2004. The more important points of the economic records are following:

1. The subscribing base of company in all the world at the end of June 2004 was 139,2 millions subscribers. The first quarter of new economic year, more than 3,1 millions new connections and moreover 2,7 millions new connections were achieved, which resulted from the changes of the companies that Vodafone Group owns in their participial capital.

2. In the gross annual ARPU there was an increase of 1 Euro in Italy, shaping the particular size into 362 Euro from 361 Euro that was in March 2004. In Germany there was a reduction of 1 Euro for the gross ARPU in relation with March 2004 that reached 309 Euro. In Japan, the gross ARPU was shaped to ¥78.365 which was decreased by ¥ 2.330
in relation with March 2004. In Britain the ARPU presented, was increased by £5 reaching £314, including an additional impulse of £4 from the repurchase of Singlepoint.

3. The total income from data services was increased into 16,3% of the income of provided services from the controlled companies of the Group for the season that expired in June 2004. Last year was 15,0%. An increase of income of 13.0% from the data services in functional level compared to the same period last year was achieved.

4. At the end of June 2004, the Group numbered 9 millions subscribers Vodafone live! in completely owned companies and 1,3 millions subscribers on not owned companies.

5. Vodafone live! is available in 20 countries, included 3 co-operative networks.

6. The subscribers of Vodafone Mobile Connect Card in purchases of
owned companies exceeded 300.000, including more than 50.000 with capability of 3rd generation networks.

Arun Sarin, CEO of Vodafone Group Plc declared relatively:

"Generally we consider that this year began very dynamically. We marked a very good output in the increase of our cliental base as well as our income. With more than 139 millions customers, we are moving forward very well, despite the particularly intense competition in certain markets. The income from data services continues increasing itself with the help of Vodafone live!, that has already above 9 millions in completely owned companies. These indicators of output keep pace with our expectations and consequently continue the effort to the closure of year in March 2005".
