Last Sunday, the last proportional telephone with circular
dial panel ceased operation in China, since it was replaced from last technology wireless unit! The appliance had been forgotten in a far away Tibetan village of Nedong and functioned with proportional signal
from 1974, when it was installed for the first time a telephone connection in the region.
The whole project was taken over before an year and a half from China Telecom, the biggest supplyer of the country, when it was decided to supply with wireless telephones of leading technology, every each one of the 683 countys of Tibet, for the communication of their residents. From 2003, in the project that costs 17 millions USD, it was totally participated around 17.800 families of the wider region so from last Sunday, all the residents of the region can communicate with the latest word of technology.
According to the records of Ministry of Briefing of China, at the duration of period January-June, 68 millions households in China installed new telephone connections, with 33 millions of them selecting constant (land line) telephony and 35.000.000 the mobile telephony! According to the same sources the total users of the telephone
connections of constant line touched upon the 295 millions, while the mobile users exceeded... 305 millions!
600.000.000 users! Thats a quite big market, don't you think?
