does anyone know how long you must stay on the tariff that you bought the phone with?
what i mean is when can you downgrade the tariff

In Orange I downgraded after 1 week but you have to wait for the month end for it to take effect.

i went to carphone warehouse today the lady there told me it is three months for all phones is this true?

No it aint, you can change after your first month or first billing date, which ever is ealier. They mislead customers so that in the even of a customer tariff downgrade e.g talk 200 to talk 60, customers think they cannot change, but if they do, the dealer will be clawed back the positive diffference in the commisions! So to cover themselves, the sales assistant should advise possible tariff change after 3 months as after that time, the dealer is not clawed back by network.
