...I bought this dongle when I had my T610 ad it worked great.

Now I have a K700i and I'm having problems.

The dongle finds the K700i very easily but says that the service 'file transfer' is unavailable. This is obviously the service I need since I was wanting to try and put some MP3s on my phone (quicker than with the syncstation DSS-20).

Does anyone have a solution?

I am using the billionton bluetooth dongle which uses the same widcomm drivers and it works brilliantly.

check what version driver you are running and check if there is a later version on the widcomm web site

Hi Masseur,

It is software version: 1.3.2.7

Firmware version: 373.

That's all I can find.

Where on the widcomm website can I find updated drivers? I checked their site a minute ago and the support section doesn't appear to offer much!

EDIT: I would also add that the orange light on the actual dongle is flashing...whatever that means...? I'm struggling somewhat as I've lost the manual!

Don't worry about not having File Transfer available, you can just use the SonyEricsson SyncStation software, over Bluetooth, to copy any files you like to and from your phone.

You just need the BT serial port to be set up (In Local Services of your Bluetooth properties with most drivers) Make a note of which Com port it's using.

Then just go to the Phone Connection Manager. (System Tray icon looks like <--/__> and check the box for Bluetooth on the same Com port.

Good luck.

You will NOT find the latest driver on widcom's website. In fact they do not distribute software. You have to contact the manufacturer of your specific adapter. You can however download drivers from other manufacturers like IBM,Belkin and do some HEX editing and modification to get it to work on yours. Do a web search. In fact it has been posted here before.

I had the exact same problem with my t610! to solve it you just right click your bluetooth tray, click bluetooth setup wizard cchoose i want to find a specific bluetooth device and configure ow this computer willl use its services and click next. choose your k700 and click next then check all the boxes with the services ( file trandsfer, dial up etc) they should be already checked though and make sure the bluetooth on your k700 is on! then click next and your done. it should work coz its like you re added your k700 to your list. try it
