I just had a telephone conversation with Sony Ericsson Greece and asked them the possibility of upgrading the P900 software into P910. What they told me is that there is a possibility SE to offer an update into the P910 firmware through the internet in the future.
However what made me more curious was the release of the next firmware update of the P900 which has taken way too long this time. So I spoke to the "friend" that I have inside SE Greece and what he told me is that there is going to be a firmware update for the P900 in the next two weeks. He, then added, that when the P910 will be released in the market the update internet page will be common for both P900 and P910! So I asked him, if this is possible then would it be possible to attach the qwerty keyboard into the P900!!?. His answer was "That could be possible!" but wasnt so sure about it.

If this is true then P900 users will not left behind and get a minor upgrade like the T68 into T68i case!

i dont think this will be possible with the exact p910 firmware. maybe SE will bring out a patched or modified version for the p900, reasons being the different hardware, i.e. 18bit screen more memory etc.

but i will live in hope.

I concur - the extra colours etc will mean about 11mb of the P900's 16mb RAM will not be available as it would be needed by the system. The remaining 5 Mb may not be enough for most people. We should wait and see.

ooooooo
I want Duo Pro on my P900 )

BTW... I dont think the screen is stored on RAM... Its been a long time since we have seen dedicated video RAMs. Not to say color depth controlled thru software

I would be very surprised if this happens since SE said that P900 doesnt support Duo Pro's.

@Krubach

It leaves plenty of questionmarks but you never know. I wish this is true! If thats the case I would not go for the P910.

surely SE wouldnt do this, and make the p900 have the ability of the p910, because they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

any customers with the p900 considering buying the p910 would think otherwise if they knew they could simply upgrade their p900 for nothing, resulting in a loss of income for SE!

surely they would have thought that through. so if it is a big upgrade, it wont be big enough to deffer potential buyers of the p910, so essentially wont be all that great!

thats just my opinion!

a firmware change cant change the hardware for you also can it..in that case its impossible...theres so many hardware differences like the screen, the whole memory system and also the flip connectors and the actual duo slot.

firmware upgrades upgrade software not hardware..end of

I guess its a known fact.
However the cause of debate over time has been the belief as to what is built in hardware and what is controlled thru software

Outta questions guyz! the P910 has 32MB of RAM 64MB on internal storage... think u can get tht with a firmware upgrade? I aint getting a P910 for itz look or feel, but for the extra memory, Duo Pro support, and 262000 colorz! am bugged with the measly 16 MB RAM and 16 MB internal memory, they've made me compromise a lot on wht i install and run! and whn u r living with a phone like tht, a good headset means lotsa movies and music- tht goes into the duo Pro

well 32mb of ram is a good thing but who cares about 64mb of free storage space when you have MS Duo Pro support. does it really matter whether it's 1gb + 32mb or 1gb + 16mb. If they release an update for MS Duo Pro support in p900, the p910 will have absolutely nothing worth mentioning to offer (in comparison to p900, of course)
