I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'll sort some facts out for you.
Using a USB cable is slow since it emulates an ordinary communication port - go for bluetooth. Price is about the same and speed is much faster. You will also have more use of it in the future if switching phone.
Bluetooth class 1 or 2 has nothing to do with your phone. It works with both specifications. Class 1 usually handles up to 300 feet while class 2 only handles up to 30 feet. This has nothing to do with your phone. If your phone only handles bluetooth up to 30 feet, then buying a class 1 dongle wont give you more than 30 feet access anyway since the limitations in the phone sets the maximum. But since class 1 dongles isn't much more expensive than class 2 these days I would go for class 1 since future phones will probably support that range. Class 1 dongles are often larger though since they have a small antenna. Class 2 dongles are small and fits your needs perfect today. But try to think about tomorrow - get a class 1 dongle. Forget about a USB cable since it's expensive and slow.
An option would be to get a USB cable that is built into a desk stand. There's a DSS-20 and a DSS-25. If you get one of these you will have a rather slow transfer rate but you will probably be able to update your phones firmware in near future.
It's all about your needs. Prices between above products doesn't differ that much. So the choice is much about your need for better speed and/or the extra option to handle the phones firmware updates yourself. Worst thing you could get is a simple USB cable.
Go for a bluetooth dongle class 1 and you're set for high speed and tomorrows products. Go for a class 2 if you want a small and fast unit and don't care about tomorrows products. Go for a desk stand if you don't need the fastest option but want more functionality. Don't go for a simple USB cable!
It's only my opinion!

Just to add Class 1 is for 30 feet and Class is for 300 feet. MSI has very good dongles. I have Orange Blue2 dongle, and it works perfect

I still think class 1 is 300 feet and class 2 is 30 feet. But there is no standard so different resellers claim different things in this matter. All you have to check is the range in the specifications. I have a Billionton for example and they claim it's class 2 while it only handles 30 feet (it's very small and reliable, I highly recommend it by the way).
Remember that there is no standard for naming products class 1 or 2 so it really doesn't matter since they all work together anyway. It's just that the product at the last end that handles the least range don't work in a wider range than it's own specification. USB ports have a standard called 1.1 and 2. They are standards since they are not compatible with eachother (mostly), but remember that this is not the case with bluetooth class 1 and 2 since they are compatible with eachother (just for the record: check that the dongle handles USB 1.1 or 2 and that your computers USB is the same standard. This is mostly not a problem these days, only a few years ago).
Good luck buddy!
PS! To anybody out there, what happened to my post about the McDonald's clown last night? It's all gone!

I'm pretty much sure you're wrong about that. Class 1 is 300 feet and class 2 is 30 feet. I know it sounds correct to think the other way arround but not in this case.
PS! Who deleted my post about the McDonald's clown? For the record, I'm mighty angry about this! |

MSI's Dongle is pretty well thought of, but there's not much in it as most use the same chipset anyway.
the question is the software and support the manufacturer will provide. MSI are good in this area, it seems, but steer well clear of Epox, the dongle's fine but, their software is crap
if you use an Apple, it doesn't really matter which dongle you go for, they'll all work with the Apple BT software. They still recommend the MSI, for some reason. |
