A couple of days ago the volume control on the side of my phone fell off. There are 4 little clips on the back, and one of them has broken. Anyone got any ideas what's the easiest way to get a new one? It does just about stay on, but I can see I'm going to lose it soon...

Thanks,

Adam

The same thing happen to me two months ago and in the service center they told me that until the t68m came to south america they can´t do anything. So I put a t28 volume key to cover the little whole.

if there isn't any signs that the phones has been dropped or something it's a warranty service...

That happened to me, had to pay £20, was told that it wasn't covered by warranty by my servicepoint. SonyEricsson here in the UK wanted £45 just to look at it! Don't think much to aftersales care!!!

The volume knob has broken off my T68i too. Volume can still be adjusted by moving the slider inside the opening with a pen tip. So there is nothing wrong with the guts of my phone. Just the little eye shaped plastic knob is missing. Can someone who has had this problem confirm that the replacement volume know is just a snap in piece that I could fit myself. I have browsed around these boards and seen costs vary from 5cents to $50 for the repair so I am trying to ascertain the best course of action!

Geez that's expensive! When my T68i volume key snapped off too (after a fall) it cost about 5 US CENTS to get a new one, and labor was free! (phone was under warranty)

When I took my phone in to get the software upgraded, the Carphone Warehouse replaced the button for free. And yes, it is just a case of clipping the little plastic bit on, so there's no way it should ever cost $50. If you try a few shops, I'm sure there will be one who will have a few spare buttons and replace it for free. Good luck!

Mine fell off too when I accidentally dropped my phone. I brought it to the SE service center. I was able to have it replaced for 20cents US. Heck that is cheap!!
