You know what annoys me ?

Themeleachers taken credit for my work.

I and other themers spend hours on creating themes that everyone can enjoy for free - I even spend time and money on setting up webpages and wappages to make it easy for people to download for free. Sites like Esato and Mobile 9 also set up themesections where everyone can find and download hundreds of great themes for nothing.

And still som low life fricking twats allways has to take some themes created by me (or others) and upload them to Esato (and other places) claiming it is their work - taken all the credit for the hours we have spent.

That is simply so low

Looking in the Esato K700 themes section - what do I find

My Ferrari theme uploaded by keyelle - hmpfr - with no credit given to me - the author of the theme.

The uploadservice even ask you to accept:
By clicking the "Accept" button, you confirm that you have created this theme yourself, and that you are willing to let Esato visitors download this theme for free.

Is it that difficult to read ?

Esato has done everything possible to prevent leaching - so this is NOT a complaint about Esato or my theme being in the themesection on Esato - but a complaint to the uploader for taking the credit of my work by putting his name in the creator field.

Just had to get it off my chest

Send me a PM if you find a theme without (or wrong) credit to the author. I will be happy to remove the theme or change the author info.

I agree with you spawn, i hate it when people take my work and give no credit to me what so ever or where they downloaded it It is nice to see people sharing yur work and if they have leached it, it's kind of make you feel good as people must like your themes , However i would prefer it if credit was given to me even if they do say none of theme themes were created by them, they should have a links page saying where they downloaded it and if there's a name by the file where they downloaded it to put that name. But when people don't say anything about it not being theirs and don't give any credit i feel like they are stealing my themes and i don't like this at all. I suppose i could always stop creating themes or not make them public, keep them for my self, but this would be selfish and if all the themers did this, there would hardly be any themes out there.

A good thing on esato i noticed is that on the T610 themes they have the theme creators name from TCP which is a really good idea , shame you can't get this on se's theme creator

@therealspawn, i found a load of themes made by you, in a zip file that i downloaded from a certian torrent site. There was no mention of your name apart from when you opened the theme your name was on the creator section. over 25% of the themes in the zip file were made by you.

Just thought i'd let you know

I know how you feel.

A few years ago i used to design gaming mods as a hobby, and a rival of mine would take the mods i developed, take out all the signature marks that proved id made it, then upload it to the internet and claim they made it.

It went so far i almost had to take legal action against one person, until they came clean and admitted they had obviously tried to claim credit for the hard work id done.

It all got sorted out in the end, and i received the credit for my work but what really astonished me is how f***ing low some people stoop, how pathetic they must be to try such a stunt.

I feel for you.

I dont know how you feel but i would hate it if that happened to me. Because it takes a long time and effort to make themes and if somebody did that to me i would be furious

I just saw this and i agree.

This

btw, yes its mob9 and most of you dont like rival forums but its a serious matter

It's not about the location where people get the theme from lynx. It's about certain people taking the work themers invest in creating a theme and making in publicly available, for granted. It is just disrespect to the time and effort involved. And even worse: saying THEY have created it when they have not. It's lying. If it were a novel or copyrighted material it would be theft. How hard is it to acknowledge when one has NOT created a theme? Really? Just a lack of good manners, that's what I think.

Thx Laffen - I will - I also know that Esato forums have done everything possible to prevent leaching - so just want to make perfectly clear to everyone that may read this that Esato forums cannot be blamed in any way.

And thx to everyone else also for their support

Its not so much that we see our themes round and about - if people like my theme I dont mind much that they share them with others - its the thing where someone takes the credit by saying they made it that gets to me. Or like we have also seen on some commercial sites where they actually take our free themes and sell them from their commercial sms sites making money from our work.

But hey its summer - and Im in a much better mood now than I was this morning - hehe

I totally agree with you guys (well you already know that, hehe) from M9

As a former moderator here, I know too that Laffen and the other mods here are doing everything they can to prevent this from happening

I dont mind neither my themes being shown/used by others, but taking credits is something else.
The "modifications" we spoke about on M9 will be the way to get these things right, and also hoping that SE will make some optional features in the next theme creator

See ya..
