Sorry if this been posted before but I have searched and found nothing.
MY question is if it's possible to unlock a k700 since my father is going to get one on and I am supposed to use it but I have a different carrier. If its possible where du I do it and how much does it cost?

hello dont think anyone has actually done this yet, i know that it cant be done over the air at the moment, but i have heard a rumour that it can be done with either a box that plugs in the bottom or a cable...
i know its not much help but it does mean you know the options to you!! |

A firmware update will NOT unlock your phone. When you update your firmware, the shop will only put on it the networks firmware, therefore keeping it locked. Most networks it is forbidden (not illegal) to unlock your phone. Search the internet they will probably come up with many places. Or try your local doogy market

Thanks for the advice. I have searched a few places on the web, they have all said that they cant unlock the phone.
Even if they did mannage to ulock it, how would i then update the firmware so that all the vodafone live stuff went?
I am looking for a place in London to do it.

I saw a site that had a link on this forum and they gave you a tutorial on how to get rid of the vodafoen branding and or unlock your phone. You do however need a terminator dongle or something like that and it is illegall. Once you get the right cable yous hould be able to find software to do it for free. However i would advise your father bought a simfree version or at least one that was a different network to vodafone. There ruining our phones!! |
