I'm sure its not the game he is writing about.
There are electronic devices you can buy and plugin at home in you backyard that make a sound that humans can't hear. (A frequency above human-ear-range).
And this frequency makes mosquitos go away.. I dont think they die. They just avaoid the area becuse the sound disturbs their radar (or whatever they have...)
Would be cool if this worked.
Can someone confirm?

This application is available for Nokkia Series 60 phones (Symbian app)
And apparently it really works. Well so the guy trying to sell the software said.
There is currently nothing available for UIQ devices. |

The ideea is old enough. But I doubt some phone speakers are good enough for this job. I mean, I saw a scheme for such a device, but using a piezo speaker. If you want to try... there is a chance: find what's the frequency you need; generate that frequency; convert it in mp3 or ogg, at a good bitrate. Use oggplay, or unreal... and there they go Cheers! Don't forget "repeate" option |

I doubt if it would work, the p900 speaker probably doesnt havethe frequency range needed.

we did som e research on this at school and you can not kill or make a mozzie go away with sound- what they use is a small heater with a scent that will mask the smell of the carbondioxide that we breath out and therefor the mozzie cant find us thats how nearly all anti mozzie products work thats why most of them need to be refilled |

I've heard of sound devices to drive rats and vermin away, it was on QVC and im sure they said it worked on insects, spiders, mothers-in-law etc but the frequency may be different for each type of vermin. Prodigy is the best for the mothers-in-law, apparently.

Then... move the phone away! Put it into another room I told you it'll be difficult cause the frequencies are high, and I doubt, that the built in speaker will do the job. But there's hope: use headphones, for their higher sound definition

I bought last year a small machine by RAID (maker), which actually looks like a pocket ventilator. It works with a single battery and it definitely keeps mosquitoes away.
This summer, as we are full of mosquitoes in Athens during summer, I bought a second one and tested it outdoors and it works fine as well. Its biggest advantage is that it is odorless and I personally believe that it is easy for the phone to produce this kind of frequency, as I copied to the phone for testing white-noise-frequencies which sounded very natural.
Works for midges too.

If somebody has that "song", upload it somewhere and give the link, so we don't have to convert, bla bla |
