i have just noticed how i don't have the my friends function on my k700 on orange here in the uk. is it a uk thing or an orange thing. is it the same on o2? not that it matters much - nobody else will have it for a LONG time. but still it would be helpful to know.

oh - it must be an orange thing then - it seems there's more to their awful branding than it seems at first - but the fact that orange is crap at branding it completely off topic - so if anyone else has anything else to say it wolud be greatly appreciated.

I noticed I don't have it on my O2 K700 either when going through the manual. What is it exactly?

i think it is like an instant messaging service but done over bluetooth/gprs - but i am not too sure. http://www.mobiledia.com/reviews/sonyericsson/k700/ has something, however small, to say about it - i'm sure its not much of a big deal though.

@ Bianca

did you get your phone directly fron eshop? cos if u did then maybe thats why its there.

oh and another thing. the little icon for it looks cool as well-another reason why i'd just like it to be there when i receive my o2 k700 in a couple of days. has your firmware been meddled with by o2, jwoolley? coz if it has..... the only reason why i changed to o2 was in the hope that it was basically unbranded - at least with all the normal looking icons etc.

No not really. The only changes I have noticed (although I havn't seen an unbranded one) are that My Friends is missing, there is an O2 icon as the top left icon on the menu which takes you to the O2 portal (on unbranded phones I believe this takes you to SE portal) and it comes with an O2 theme and animated startup screens (which I actually still use). The phone is unlocked too.

can't really complain about that! you would expect them to give you a link to o2 active or whatever it is, and i love the startup screens - its the only good thing i have to say about the orange branded one. so that has been very helpful. and its unlocked too! wow

I'm having an unbranded k700 and I don't have this option.

Does anyone know how I can "reinstall" this app? First of all, is it possible!?

My Friends feature is a big deal to me. I have been using it to chat with my yahoo and icq friends simultaneously. It works as an IM.
