Has anyone noticed the difference when you change the camera settings from normal to fine? I know you can take more photo's when in normal mode, but quality wise I can't really tell the difference... |

Which phone are you referring to?

I'll bet on K700.
I leave it on 'Normal' for the file size as I can't see much improvement with 'Fine'. In fact in some conditions I found 'Fine' to look a little worse with more 'noise'

I guess the fine looks a little bit more "fine" but i would probably still go with the normal because the fine looks more grainy then it does fine. I guess the result of fine makes it look grainy, or maybe the grainy make the picture a little more fine. LoL. Hard to say.. Normal i guess.

In "fine", pictures are better. You can see that in size difference. "fine" pictures are bigger than "normal".

I think the normal setting always seems to blur objects that little bit more. I never use it anyway, i always keep mine on fine. On fine setting you can see the pictures remaining number, you cant on normal.

No mate, that's nothing to do with whether it's on fine or normal.
It only shows the number when it is not rediculously high. As fine pics are bigger u can store less & hence the numbers show.
U must have loads of free space mate! U've got 41MB to play with, use it! Mine shows the pics remaining even on the very lowest quality & size of picture as there's only about 3MB free

My phone is on normal. I hardly see the difference only that fine is a little more grainy. |

if you look at the leaves in the picture they are slightly more blurry when on normal. I use Normal, and it tells you when you can only store another 900pics . but depending on the number of colours in photos, taking one photo with a lot of colour could reduce the space left by 2 or 3 photos.

Yes it can change by more than 1 as it's only a rough estimate.
Like u say pics at the same settings can be a lot different in size depending what's in them

The normal picture looks a little darker than the fine one. That may just be cloud cover though.....

But on 640x480 resolution, on fine, the number is stupidly high, usually 600+ for me right now. Ive never used the normal quality setting when the phones memory is low, and ive had it down to 2mb before with lots of MP3 ringtones, games and themes. Right now i have 23mb free (since i deleted games i finished, themes i didnt like, and ringtones that sounded crap).
I just think the K700 stores enough pictures in fine mode anyway, so why bother using normal ?

simply because the fine pictures are grainy and are, for me, anyway, slightly more pale in colour than the normal pics but hey! do what you feel. personally, the more pics i can fit in a phone, the better - even if i do already have 467!
