T68 IR image transfer always gives error |

Always, always, always, I get the following error trying to download a background image via IR:
"Error occurred while wireless link was sending file data to the other machine. The data is invalid"
I have managed to send a background image once so far, out of many attempts...

What for an OS do you use ? A friend of mine had the same problem under Windows 2000...!! But I don’t have any problem at all under Windows 98...
May be it can help...

I had the same problem. I changed the IR-transfer rate to 9600 in the Windows IR-Monitor. Since then it works. Takes a few seconds per image, but it works.
If this helps, you can increase the transfer rate to 19200 and more maybe that works too.

Thanks folks - I am using Win2000, and slowing down the IR transmission rate worked perfectly !

Please excuse me being a bit slow, but how, in Windows do you change the IR transmission rate?
I have succeeded in sending smaller files to my t68 but not larger. One site suggested very large files could be sent.
I also tried the Sendfile software v. 1.0.7 but that didin't work either! |

in Windows ME,2000,XP you can change the transfer rate in "My Computer" - "Properties" - "Hardware Manager". There you look for the "IR-Device" entry and choose "properties" againg. There should be a tab "IrDA settings" where you can change the transfer rate.
For Windows 98 look for the IrDA icon in the taskbar right click on it and you get the IrDA settings window.

But!! I think I am being a bit too slow! I also accessed that from the control panel. My IrD is an USB device. I can see driver details but not a data rate!
Haha! I though I knew Windows quite well but Dream On!! |

ahem - well let me think about it. Which Windows version do you use? Which IrDA device did you connect? Maybe you can find some infos on the manufacturer's website? I have a notebook with built in IrDA as well as a desktop with a serial ActiSYS 200+ IrDA converter.

I am using Windows ME. The Ir device is an Actisys USB wireless device.
I didn't think to check out their site but found an address so I will do so. www.actisys.com/

So that's the ACTiSYS IR-2000U? I guess you can choose FIR or SIR mode somewhere. FIR (Fast Infrared) is the new standard that works only with 4MBit/s, too much for the poor T68. You have to use SIR mode (Serial Infrared), that one you can configure with 9600 upwards.

Yes, it is the Actisys 2000U model. I can see FIR written on the underside.
I am not sure where it is that I can choose FIR or SIR mode. I'll take a look at the floopy and their site again.
So I guess I should have chosen the serial model instead of the USB model. Hmmm... I wonder if I can get it changed! It works perfectly for Outlook 2000 and for smaller sized pictures.

My IrDa got revenge this evening and would not even sync. with Outlook 2000!
So, I re-installed the drivers and also the Sync Software XTENDConnectPC and, amazing! All works fine, for now anyway!
I even sent, using Sendfile (created by Micke) a file that is 7234bytes? in size!
Time for a beer! But I will transfer this, by a more traditional method!

Well everyone, now i successfully sendt pictures up to 8000 to my T68 using standard IR program only. What I did was to set the speed to 19.2.

I have win2k and a Toshiba Tecra 8000 and I cannot change the speed of my infrared port so I still can't get the picture transfer to work. I've tried toshibas web site for further info but can't find anything. Any body any ideas? |

I have a Tecra 8100 running Windows XP and it has been frustrating because of the picture transfer problem. |
