Hey folks.

I've a Sony Ericsson Z600, with firmware r5b001.

According to a FAQ in the General forums, the latest is R6C005 or R6B021. Not sure which. Presume the first?

Now - Should I have the firmware updated? What would the benefits be?

The side question is, how can I tell when my phone was made?

Thanks folks.

Date of the fone is on the label under the battery. U can ask for an upgrade at se service or your operator. Its worth to go for it.

Sorry, but i can't actually see anything that resembles a date.

How much would it cost and how long would it take?

Thanks.

SOny Ericsson dates look like "04w22" meaning "2004 Week 22"

Just a thought!

Thanks mwright. Mine is a 04W14, meaning it was made in week 14 in the year 2004 then.

Thanks Bob. Oh, but do I need to send it to a Sony Ericsson service centre? Would I say be able to go to the place I bought it at? I bought it at Darty, which is a rather large store selling all sorts of electrical appliances and so on.

Thanks.

Ask your operator aswell, there are - or should be - other shops where to make an upgrade.
