Hi,

I'vehad my BT dongle working for ages, and it works beautifully! well, it did untill i reformatted my computer, and then it took a bit of working to get going again, not sure why, but it was fine, but now ive formatted again, it's asking me for the security key again, which i though was printed on the MSI box, but it's not, so can anyone help me with this at all? I have put in the key before, and have it working on my other computer back home (105 miles from here) and I thought once you put the code in it was 'stored' on the key,

Just got my k700i, very nice, but i cant use my bt with it!

any help is much apreciated.

Oops - this time I will try and write a message not just send. - regarding security codes - i dont have an MSi but the Belkin one asked the same - i started searching for the code too - but then realised i could put anything there - as long as the device I wanted to pair with used the same code - just try entering a 4 digit number and see if you get a response from the device you want to pair.

I know what you mean, but it's during the install of the software, it is asking me for a security key which consists of four groups of eight numbers or the letters abcdef, so im a little stuck here!

cheers for your help nonetheless!

I know that this is a little vague but I know that it tells you how to get it on the msi website (www.msi.com.tw). You need it for the latest version of the driver software and you have to get it emailed to you. If you install an older version of the driver software , you dont need the code.
I hope that this helps.

cheers for your help guys, much appreciated. I've just come back from jobzone and gonna try the msi one now, it's really annoying 'cause it doesn't let me start the key, apparently, I hope this is the problem, 'cause otherwise I have a task on my hands!

thanks again, I'll let you know

The security code is "any" four digits you want it to be. It "can" be four zeros if you want to, but as I said, you can choose any digits as you want when doing the pairing. If you have/get a K700i, don't forget to pair "from" the phone, otherwise the phone will come to a total freeze (just wanted to mention the last part so you avoid more problems in this matter).

The security code is always choosen when doing the pairing. Meaning that there is never a default one built into the dongle that you have to remember if you do a repairing.

Do you mean search for devices then initiate pairing from the phone to the computer? I haven't found that my phone freezes, I have just found that every new time I try any connections I have to re-pair it, as it were.

Have you found any other bugs in the k700i? I found a couple, the tennis game flashes up something every now and again, looks like the ea symbol to me, although it could be subliminal messaging.

also i've had a bit of trouble sending pictures via bluetooth to a T610, any thoughts?
