DCU-11 USB cable and K700 incredibly slow! What's the problem? |

Hi!
Just recenlty bought a dcu-11 usb cable to connect my k700 to the pc since i sold my laptop with infrared port. Now the problem is that transferring stuff between the k700 and pc using this cable is unbelievebluy slow! Like a 1.5 mb mp4 file takes like half an hour to transfer! And 100k images take several minutes! Have i done something completely wrong here? Using the IR, transfer was WAY faster! If the speed isn't better than this than i'll take this cable back for a refund! The speed is absolutely redicolous!
Anyone who's got an idea about this?

Speed of cable is 9.6 kbs - sell it. Go for bluetooth!

I tried that but it seems it had no effect at all. Very poorly done by SE! I'll go for the bluetooth then!

@Merovingian:
Where can you set the baudrate? I have the same "problem" as Olmen: it is super slow to transfer...
I have also contacted SE to ask, but they havent answered yet... |

In device manager/ports/*your cable*/properties.
Good luck!
And btw, afaik the USB-cable doesn't operate at USB speed since it emulates a COM-port.. : S

setting a faster baud rate may render the cable inoperational. So you have to experiment. IR and BT are definitely much faster. |

Have experienced the same, incredibly slow with bluetooth aswell. I discovered that using SE's bundled File Manager is largely responsible for the slow transfer. By using my PC's bluetooth software to use "Send File" it seems to transfer about 10 times quicker, so I always use this method now.

I am experiencing the same problems with my K700i and the DCU-11 cable. According to the Sony website faq
What speed does the cable support?
12 Mbps in USB mode, 921600 bps in baud rate mode. Actual speed depends on your phone content.
So the question is, how do we set the cable to USB mode and get the glorious 12Mbps !! |

The DCU cable is very slow!! You should buy the DSS-25 stand to get fast speeds. I have the DCU cable and I sold it because it is too slow and now I got the DSS stand and the speed is faster!!! |

feco,
How did you get the DSS to work faster? I've gone to device mgr and set it up from 9600 to 115200 but not much different AFAIK.
