2004: Why are we still waiting for wireless earphones? |

Whether you have a P900 or an IpOD - wouldnt it be great to have wirless earphones? Not the MASSIVE headphones to wear around the house, but wirless earphones, the same size wired ones that get shipped with every walkman and MP3 Mobile phone. with bluetooth on my printer, and WIFI connecting my PC to my stereo - why do we not have wirless earphones? is battery power the issue? surely it should be possible??
I WANT MY IPOD TO HAVE A WIRELESS ADAPTER AND EARPHONES!!!!

Battery is an issue but also where would you put the bluetooth reciver, and there would be a wire between the 2 ear pieces.
You can get them wireless, from the product you are using them with, however they have a reciever pack that you need to have in your pocket. This means that they are tecnically wireless as you can listen to your stereo upstairs while walking around the house and you aren't connected to the stereo, but your are wired to the reciever. But the transmitter also needs powering to send the RF signals.

why would you need a wire between them?
for example, an ipod:
2 "earbups" (left and right) wireless reciever and battery in left, and wireless reciever and bettery in right, and a wireless transmitter in the ipod earphone port - no wires.
Also, im not talking about heaphones around the house. i mean, small earphones for a walkman/ipod so when i am in the Gym, i can put my ipod in my pocket, and have wireless earphones - no wires.

to be honest i would prefer a small wire to that huge piece of plastic around the back of my head. Also how do you expect to get a battery and reciver in small ear piece, unless you use huge BT style ear pieces.
