this is an absolutely true story, told first hand by myself and not passed on.

during this past xmas i had a festive sales position at phones4u here in edinburgh. now just so you know selling phones is a very stressful job, there are targets to be met and the area manager is a prick here in edinburgh. anyway i started in november and left in febuary. i called my fathers friend and asked him if he would like to buy a phone and he said he was interested in a 6600 for his 11 year old daughter and wanted to keep the contract fopr himself as he liked his handset. i told him id do him a good deal if he popped in. i went on holiday to london with my girlfriend for a weekend and this is when my dads mate decided to come in. when i came back to work my dads mate came backb in very irate and told me he wanted to speak to a manager and for me not to get involved. it turned out that he had been given a returned/faulty phone, bad enough you may think but after giving the phone to his daughter she was messing around with it as u do and noticed that there was a whole load of pronographic material on the handset. gay pornographic material to be precise, she was obviously very distressed. this is why my dads mate returned the phone. he said he was going to go to the tabloids unle he was compenstaed in some way. during the conversation the manager of my store tried to physiccally get the phone from him to delete the files but my dads mate was having none of it. to top it all off o2 said they would not swap the imei number on his insurance and contract. he also didnt get his number ported accross straight away. he also only recieved a jabra bt headset and a 150gbp cheque which he had to wait 3 months for. while the whole problem was being sorted hwhich took about 3 weeks i was continually bullied into getting my dads mate to forget it. i was told in no uncertain terms i would be made to leave otherwise. i was also told i could be taken to court and prison because i served him. which i didnt as i was in london. the contract was put through in my name so i could get the commision.

anyway i thought i would give you an insight into how phones4u works, phones are thrown around while being put away. new releases delayed so they can sell a phone that makes more money and the training course is absolute hell. all phones4u staff are told to stick directly to a script. some change it a bit but its basically the same. i will post the script in another topic shortly. i hope you have enjoyed reading this. any questions please ask i will be happy to answer them for you

That story doesn't surprise me one bit. I've had numerous problems with phones4u/Singlepoint. It's only confirmed my thoughts on there unprofessional attitude to the phone sales business. I upped and left Singlepoint more than a year ago, yet they still insist on sending me a bill each month that states "you have nothing to pay this month".

Singlepoint is stupid. My dad payee his months bill just on time but they cut his phone off from being used and he called them and told them he had payed and they told him vodafone was having problems in my area but that was not true i use vodafone on my other phone and my brother does aswell and they both were working. Singlepoint lie to cover their mistakes!

sorry about blank message, click on the button too soon!
I have also worked in p4u edinburgh (over a year), paid my way through uni, but it has to be one of the worst jobs i have done. Working for phones4u basically invovles sell sell sell. Its what makes the saleman the most moeny that matters. What i will say is that if you want a phone, go into other stores furst get the low down the best deal and see if p4u can beat it, they want you business. if not walk away and dont be imtimated by the staff.

I was sold a used, faulty T68i from The Link in Lakeside, Essex. It was full of numbers and had no backlight. I didn't notice till i got it home.
I had a row with the pompus fool of a manager for ages, saying that they dont do that sort of thing. Then he saw the box where they stuck the return note on it.
He all of a sudden couldn't be more helpful and told me i could have a replacement straight away.
So it isn't just phones4u who sell crap.

to be honest before when i was in uk, i actually only when in to phones 4 u to look at the handsets on display, but really those guys in there are over the top they just about physically restrain you from leaving the shop, what i call it is "how not to try and sell a phone", would never buy from that shop. vodafone shos are allot better, but they also have there faults too

I used to work for Orange and we had an phones4u shop right next door to us.We basically got unhappy customers from them coming to us all day. They are a bunch of crooks and should be shut down according to my opinion..I could go on all day telling you horror stories about them. [addsig]
