My friend had a J5 when he came to england yesterday, it was registered with comviq. When he bought a Virgin sim card, the phone starts with searching for a net, then says "SIM lock" and probably asks for a code... However I can't enter anything, or more correctly I can't accept what I've entered..
Does this depend on his phone being locked to comviq or what's the problem?

Try typing *#SIMLOCK# at the standby screen and this will show if the phone has a sim lock enabled.

If it has, you'll need a special data cable and software to unlock it. Details at the following site:
