Maybe it's a hoax, but a damn pretty good one:

From Bangladesh's "The New Nation" on-line newspaper:

Giant human skeleton found in Saudi Arabia
By Saalim Alvi from Riyadh
Apr 22, 2004, 12:04

Recently gas exploration is going in the desert of south east region of Saudi Arabia. This desert region is called Empty Quarter, which means in Arabic "RAB - UL -KHAALEE"; this body has been found by ARAMCO exploration team. This proves what Allah SWT said in QURAN about the people of AAD nation and HOOD nation.

They were so tall, wide and very power full that they were able to pull out big trees just with the one hand. But what happen after when they become misguided and disobeys Allah SWT, Allah SWT destroyed the whole nation. ULEMA KIRAM of Saudi Arabia believes that this body belongs to AAD nation.

Saudi military took over this whole area. And nobody is allowed to go in this region except Saudi ARAMCO personnel's. Saudi government has kept it very secret but some military helicopters took pictures from air. And one of them he runs on internet here in Saudi Arabia.

Ok, hoax is over...

Origins: Although the scriptual writings of many religions include tales of races of giant men who lived long ago, this message and its accompanying photo are not examples of archeological proof of those accounts.

The image displayed above was taken from Worth1000.com, a site devoted to hosting contests in which entrants show off their skills at manipulating photographs using digital editing programs. This particular picture was an entry from one of the site's "Archaeological Anomalies" competitions, in which entrants vied to create the most realistic archaeological hoaxes: "Your job is to show a picture of an archaeological discovery that looks so real, had it not appeared at Worth1000, people might have done a double take."

The basis for this image was a real photograph of an excavation site near Hyde Park, New York, where scientists were working to uncover the skeleton of a mastodon. Someone combined the Worth1000.com contest entry photo with a fanciful story linking the image to the Islamic account of the Prophet Hud, creating the hoax quoted above — which spread especially far after being published as a seemingly real news article on the web site of The New Nation, described as "Bangladesh's Independent News Source." I guess you've heard of the Bible's Old Testament. There you read of Goliath and the sons of Anak. So their existence is not a question. Please note that the OT was written centuries before the Koran.

their existence has never been proven, just like bigfoot and aliens. Should I believe that aliens will take over tomorrow too, after reading some book?

I did some detective and found the source for that above photoshopped photo of the so called AAD nation and HOOD race of people.

This of course is the aerial picture of a pit at the site outside Hyde Park , New York , taken on September 16, 2000. The site was excavated by the Paleontological Research Institution and the Cornell Department of Geological Sciences and what they found was the skeleton of a mastodon

This is what mastodons looked like.
