The way of fixing such things is different in every countries. The police should search for it, lets say 30 days long. If no success, the ins co starts the action to get u a new one. U know, they have to wait for the police, cos on that way ebody could say, i lost my fone, get me a new one. The procedure has a tradition. And there is another thing. Is the fone ready to deliver by the brand itself. Many threads here are reporting out of stock stories. On the paper u got from the police, any info of it?

Whenever an insurance is involved it takes a looooooooooong time. Because they don't want to pay and save interest, when delaying the case.

In my experience Had to wait three months then they (Abbey) offered to replace my handset with an inferior brand. I now pay £5 extra monthly to Orange as they will replace my handset immediately with the same model. .

If you are in the U.K and you have a genuine claim your insurance company will probably wait at least 28 days as they will say this is to allow for the impossible scenario of your phone just "turning up" or "being found", but after that it is a case of them getting one of their reps to send a phone out no probs! If you haven't got your phone in 30 days phone your agent and tell them that if they don't get your claim sorted then you will lodge an official compliant with the General Insurance Standards Council (GISC). Failing that get another broker! |
