T630 screen problem in T610! |

I've just bought a T630 LCD to replace a broken screen in a T610. Today, I got the 'donor' phone! Took it apart, took out the old screen, put in the T630 screen, put it all back together and..... blue screen!
I've tried it in another T610 I've just repaired with the same result. When you switch the phone off, the screen flashes different colours as the turn-off animation is played, but you can't see any icons, text etc. Is the LCD faulty?
I've put a standard T610 screen in the phone, and it's working happily at the moment, so it's not the connector.
One final question - when I go into the service menu to see if the phone's unlocked, I get the open padlock and the number '5', which suggests the phone's unlocked - but it won't work with my O2 sim! It works fine with my Orange sim (originally an Orange phone). Does this mean the phone does need unlocking after all? The other T610 I have, which is locked to Vodafone, has a closed padlock and the number '5'. Hope I've made sense!

I am sure I have read in the many threads about doing this that you need to also put T630 firmware into the phone if you want to use a T630 screen on a T610

Damn, I thought you just needed to slot the screen in!
Thanks for that @masseur!

That means , if I go to service to change my display they will upgrade my t 610 fw to t 630 fw. That sounds good. What's the price of the joke? Knows some1?

I donīt think that some1 will do this offically... Upgrade of firmware in warranty is free, if not, in Slovakia about 8 Euro.

I got the screen for Ģ35 off Ebay in the UK - Doing this either whilst your phone is still in warranty or you don't know what your doing 100%. As I get phones usually that are secondhand and broken this isn't a problem for me.
And not even a phone 'fiddler' like me even touches the software side - that could totally mess your phone up if you don't know what you're doing (like I don't )
