i feel bad for the sales guy. his crap wages are only supplemented by his commission, he probably lost out on a sale to a colleague by trying to help you! did you buy from him initially? or waste his time getting the phone demo'd before going and buying online? and for how long did you ramble on? leave the guy alone, and get a life.

Which carphone warehouse was it?
The guy near me said that if i went in about 3 - 4 weeks then once they had the generic firmware they would upload it for me.

Another thing i was thinking about is. Is there any way of downloading specific firmwares for the k700. i am more particularly looking for the generic firmware and the orange firmware.

I feel there are a few 'subtle changes' that are needed on the orange version, and the generic version.

any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

This reminds me of a similar story I've read on Esato:
George W. Bush;s Resume (C.V): What happened to the American freedom of Speech & the land of the free?

It refers to an article posted by @axxxr where Linda Ronstadt was kicked out of the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA for promoting Fahrenheit 9/11 - a film that is highly critical of the Bush Administration by Michael Moore.

I know I make long posts but let's see if this makes sense.

You go into a technology shop seeking help with your phone and instead receive poor service and vulgarity. The service clerk was possibly upset because he believed he had wasted time with you and didn't get a commission for his effort OR was having a real bad day OR was just a jerk. Is the service you received excusable?

Las Vegas visitors go into a casino seeking entertainment and instead receive a political advertisement and G.W. Bush Bashing. Linda Ronstadt was feeling entitled to talk politics during a show because she believed passionately in her political agenda OR she felt as an artist she had "license" OR she was just being completely pushy with her opinion and her titanic nose. Is the political add they received excusable?

Several here have said that you should take all necessary action you can to get this "prat" "sacked". (I still have a few things to learn about proper English slang vs. American slang)

Maybe you should just let it go - use your time and effort to find the firmware you're seeking and not visit the same technology shop again? I mean, did the "F" bomb dropped on you by this guy really mess up your life? And isn't everyone entitled to a bad day once in a while?

OR

Maybe you should stand up and say you did not appreciate that kind of service - it was uncalled for and unnecessary. It showed a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy in a business situation.

I happen to agree with the majority of posters here - you should do what you can to ensure that, at a minimum, the company knows its customers are receiving this kind of service. If I owned this business I would be appalled at the unprofessional and discourteous environment of this shop due to this idiot (and his "supervisor").

BTW: UPDATE ON THE LINDA STORY ...
Ronstadt To Return to Las Vegas
Quote:
Linda Ronstadt is set for a speedy return to the casino she was reportedly ejected from last weekend - for a performance with filmmaker Michael Moore. Ronstadt's run of shows at Las Vegas, Nevada's Aladdin complex was brought to a halt on Saturday after she dedicated a song to Moore, the controversial director of Fahrenheit 9/11 - upsetting fans who disagreed with the filmmaker's movie attack on American President George W Bush. Many fans walked out of the show and some ripped down posters in protest. Ronstadt was later escorted from the premises. But, thanks to negotiations between the Recording Artists Coalition and the prospective new owners of the Aladdin Theater, Ronstadt is slated to return to the venue later this year. And she'll be taking Moore with her. In a letter to the Aladdin management, Moore stated his disappointment in the decision to axe Ronstadt's shows and offered to duet with her on "America The Beautiful" if the singer was invited back. He plans to make good on his promise. Planet Hollywood boss Robert Earl, the prospective new owner of the venue, says, "We hope to be approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission to become the new owners of the Aladdin Resort in Las Vegas as early as September 1, 2004. Upon the assumption of ownership, and with a new management team in place, we would like to offer the use of the Theatre of Performing Arts to Linda Ronstadt for a second concert and further to take Michael Moore up on his offer to join her on stage to introduce her and sing a song."

Oh- BTW - I was just joking about Linda's big nose. I think it's quite attractive actually.
