i've been told by a press representative that a presentation of new models is being prepared for july. friends from taiwan have been told by that the exact date will be the 15th of july. i'm going to be invited to the even in madrid, which suggests it will be a similar event to the one of the 9th of march when they unveiled the s700 and the k700 - will be held in many different cities worldwide.
i've replied to the email asking which models are going to be unveiled. i don't expect him to reply specifically, but it looks very odd to me that they unveil any important new model in that month, when half the world is on holidays. however the size of the event seems unproportionate for just presenting the k500, so it must be more models, at least one. For the moment we can just talk about weak rumours since this time Sony Ericsson has made a really good job to prevent the leak of information or photos. Maybe it's what-everyone-calls-F700 (a K700-sized stylish phone with all the features of S700, which by no way will be called F700; perhaps K900) and/or the Layla/P910 (a small upgrade of the P900 with qwerty keyboard) and/or a totally new smartphone (which, presented now or in the future, should use the UIQ 3 interface for touchscreens and non-touchscreens). Sure all this sounds amazing, so let's just hope it's not finally only about the K500.

I'm ill since februar. My backbone is broken. I don't know how it happened. One day I woke up and my back hurts for a week, then my right leg hurt for a week and at the and of that I fall off (don't know the frase, when you just fall down and you don't remember things for about 1-2 second and then you will start again to see). Since then I at home. They first though I have it bigger as normal or it's not there as it should be. First about a month they realised, that I have it broken and it MUST be operated. I will go 14th to hospital for the operation. Hope it will be allright. They are experts there in these cases.
Sorry for being off-topic.

countdown to the 15th!!!
BTW i thought that the new handset with all the features of s700 would be called f700 since it has been rumoured as that for so long. I guess it would clear up all the confusion abt f500 being vodafone and k*** free? whatever

"latest info to me suggests there is a F700 business style replica for K700, and a seperate F900 which is the premium handset to compete with upcoming moto and nokia ones.
afaik F500 = K500, since lower range does not need 2 different handsets (business people not interested anyway). And then above that we have 2 segments, F for business and K for youth range. S is of course the imaging range and P the pda phone. 700 indicates a mid-high end handset and 900 are the top range. There will not be a K900 for some time, F900 should come first, shown later this year and released by early 2005. F700 is actually a modified K700 with memory stick slot (no other difference). F900 is what I referred to as F700 earlier - it is the 8910 of SE phones.
Apologies for confusion earlier (sources indicated high end F series and I had short access to proto - on hearing of F700 I assumed it was that, now I am told F700 and F900 are different, it was F900 I tried!)"
The F900 will be the flagship phone for SE in the months to come. Lets hope either the F700 or the F900 will be the phones announced on July 15th. |

Well, as I posted a few months ago, this is about the right time of year for Ericsson/SE to unveil their REAL products... not the bones they throw the press during CeBit or whatever.
They've done this before (Ericsson, anyway) and I'm not surprised they're doing it now. It's the best way to release new phones... when they're READY for release already!
AFAIK, the "F" series is just for one telco... unlocked units will be branded the "K" series...but will sport the same features as it's "F" counterpart.

i came by accross some information that would like to share with most of u, that i was able to find out a few of the products that SE will be announcing soon:
1) F500i (with vodafone), there will be an equivalent model known as the K500i (available in 2 colors, Blue and Silver).
2) P900 upgrade: yes its the same Layla codename and will be called the P910, and P910a for the North americas. I beleive recalling that it has about 50 -60 MB internal memory with also a memory stick. Has a QWERTY keepan inside the flip and looks exactly like the photos been posted here on Esato.
3) HBH-660, silver metalic color, has a battery indicator on the outside, an upgrade of the HBH-600.
HBH-300 also silver metalic shape and is an upgrade of the HBH-30/35 as it has a similar design.
thats all i know 4 now, will keep most of u updated if i find out any new things.
